Licence and usage

Every photograph on this site was made by Asaf Hoffman and stays their work. What follows is what you may do with one, in plain words.

Copyright

© 2026 Asaf Hoffman. All photographs are protected by copyright. Downloading, screenshotting or reposting an image does not transfer any right to it.

What you may not do without a licence

  • Publish a photograph on a website, in print or in an advertisement
  • Use one to promote a business, product, team or event
  • Sell it, or sell anything with it printed on it
  • Alter it and present the result as your own
  • Train a machine-learning model on it

What a licence gives you

Personal. Print it, frame it, share it. Not for resale or advertising. Print it at home, frame it, hang it, send it to family. One person, never for resale and never to advertise anything.

Commercial. Editorial and commercial use, one title or campaign. Editorial and commercial use for one named title or campaign, agreed in advance. Larger or exclusive use is priced per case — ask.

A print bought from the shop is a finished object: the photograph on your wall, with no licence to reproduce it.

Credit

Where a photograph is published under any licence, credit it to Asaf Hoffman. Editorial use should read “Photograph by Asaf Hoffman”.

How to licence a photograph

Digital downloads carry their licence at the point of purchase — choose Personal or Commercial on the photograph's page in the shop. For anything the shop does not cover — exclusivity, a print run, a brand campaign — get in touch and it will be quoted.

Photographs of people

Sports and event photographs are published as editorial work. A licence here covers the photograph itself; it does not grant permission to use anybody's likeness to endorse a product. That permission, where it is needed, is yours to obtain.
